Junior's Road to College September-Be sure you're signed up to take the PSAT/NMSQT... Be smart about extra curricular activities, Colleges look for passion and committment not quantity..
October-Take the PSAT/NMSQT.This is a valuable chance to get personal feedback on how to improve academic skills and gain experience test taking.
November-Junior year grades are crucial for getting into college (no matter what you've done up to now)..Start your College List
December- get PSAT/NMSQT Score Report Plus.. Figure out how to improve your academic skills and take the right steps now (it will work).
January-Start your scholarship search (and apply fo everything)... Narrow your college list to about 9-10 schools.. Memorize your Social Security Number (you're going to start needing it)
February-Register online for the Spring SAT. Begin Test Prep at the collegeboard.com Test Prep Center
March- Take the SAT I.. or SAT II in the specific subject area immediately after completing the course.. Go online to get college applications.. Visit colleges while school is in session and schedule an interview if one is offered.
April-Register online for May/June SAT.
May-Take the SAT.. Take AP exams.
June-Take the SAT.. and SAT II... Try to find a summer job that will show committment and responsibility as well as earn you money
July & August-If you're applying early decision, be sure you've narrowd down your list and have the needed applications.. When on vacation near a school, stop and walk around to get a sense of the school and a basis of comparison.

Senior's Road to College September-Register online for tthe SAT.. Get college applications online or write to the school..Ask your counselor for a copy of your transcript to check for accuracy...Schedule college visits..Practice for the SAT online...Gather information on financial aid application requirements and deadlines (the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE and FAFSA are available online).. Now's the time to release your SAT II scores on hold.
October-SAT test date: October 12... Register online.. Start lining up Teacher recommendations (give them plenty of notice) and follow up...Early decision applications should be in now... Get started on all other college applications.. Get working on your application essays.
November-SAT test date: November 2... Register online.. Send your Scores online.. Get your FAFSA (from your counselor/online). Mail your scholarship applications.
December-SAT test date:December 7.. Register online..Send your scores online..Send out last applications... Get your FAFSA(from your counselor or online)..Be sure your family avs final 202 pay stubs to estimate income on financial aid applications.
January-Last chance to retake SAT.. Take SAT II.. Send your Score.. Request your grade transcripts to be sent to the colleges on your list...Your completed FAFSA should be sent in as soon as possible after January 1, 2003 (Remember, many colleges award financial aid on a 'first com, fist served' basis)
February-Continue searching for scholarship oppurtunities (you may use collegeboard.com to expand your search) About 4 weeks after mailing in your FAFSA you should recieve your SA (Student Aid Report).. Review it for accuracy.
April-Make your decision about whih school is right for you.. Look carefully over your Financial Aid Packages with your parents and your counselor... Sne din your deposit to the school of your choice... Notify other schools where you've been accepted and your decision.
May-Take the AP exams.. Send thank you notes to the teachers who wrote letters of recommendation for you.
June-Request final transcripts be sent to the college you're attending.. Send thank you notes to the scholarship programs who have given you aid.
July & August-Notify the financial aid office of the scholarships you've been awarded.
