Akash Modi named to the Senior Men's Gymnastics Team

Senior Akash Modi was named to the USA Senior National Men’s Gymnastics Team after his performance this past weekend at the Winter Cup Challenge in Las Vegas. Akash competed against members of the 2012 USA Olympic team. Click here to read the full article.

Derek Liu recipient of the NJ Siemens Award for Advanced Placement

Congratulations to Derel Liu for earning the Siemens Award for Advanced Placement.  The Siemens Award for Advanced Placement is  awarded each year to the student with the greatest number of scores of 5 on eight AP math and science exams. This is an outstanding accomplishment by Derek.

HTHS 2012-2013 Teacher of the Year - Ms. Gross

Congratulations to Ms. Gross on being selected as the 2012-2013 HTHS Teacher of the Year. Ms. Gross is well deserving of this award and we are proud of her and all she does at HTHS to make it a special place.


HTHS Students qualify for the United States Geography Challenge

On Saturday Jan 19, the Academic Team competed in the Northern Jersey Geography Bee at Ridgewood HS and had first place winners in the Varsity and JV division. This regional contest qualifies for the United States Geography Challenge in Washington DC on April 26 whose top 4 winners will compete as Team USA at the 2013 International Geography Olympiad in Kyoto, Japan.

This regional Bee consisted of 50 multiple choice questions.Qualifying for the National Tournament, in the Varsity division [with 33 contestants] are:
1st place, Rohan Kodialam with 88 points;
10th place, Adithya Kannan with 75 points; and
14th place, Christiaan Bedrij-Arpa with 62 points. 
Qualifying for the National Tournament, in the JV division [with 8 contestants] is:
1st place, Andrew Huang with 78 points.
Congratulations to all the students who participated.


Two HTHS Students are named Intel Science Semifinalists

Congratulations to seniors Angelica Chen and Eric Schneider who were both named as semifinalists in the Intel Science Talent Search. The Intel Science Talent Search is one of the most prestigious science competitions in the nation for high school students. You can read about it here.
