In memory of Carrie Wolfe Carrie and Mrs. MacNeill on her graduation day.
The PFA Carrie Wolfe Scholarship Award was established in June 2003 and was first given to a member of the Class of 2003. It is intended to honor students who exhibit qualities like those that endeared Carrie to her friends and teachers.

The recipient of the award is chosen based on a rubric developed by several of Carrie's friends and teachers. Any graduating HTHS senior is eligible, regardless of GPA. Anyone within the High Tech community may address a letter to the faculty selection committee explaining why they believe a particular individual deserves the award, but no nominations are necessary.

Any student honored by this award should demonstrate the following qualities:

  • a friend to all
Carrie cared a lot about everyone she met; she was extremely thoughtful and giving. It wasn't unusual for her friends to find little surprise packages waiting to cheer them up and she'd go out of her way to make them smile. She was always willing to listen to whatever was bothering her friends and could be trusted with anything.
  • moral
Carrie's faith was a huge part of her life and she lived by it. While being a Christian is not a requirenment for this award, several of the qualities she drew from her faith, such as her morals and her tolerance, are. Carrie very rarely said anything that was outright mean to anyone and she was devoted to God. She was determined to be the best person she could be through Him and was continually trying to better herself.
  • cheerful
It's not that Carrie was always smiling, but it's nearly impossible to think of a time when she wasn't. Carrie was always there to make people smile and laugh and she had a great sense of humor, though it was a little offbeat at times (a rubber chicken prom date, anyone?). She was a spontaneous person and very creative and adventurous - nothing could keep her down for very long and she was always coming up with new plots and ideas to try.
  • dependable
Carrie was no slacker - she may not have necessarily liked doing her schoolwork, but it all got done just the same. She worked hard to improve in everything that she did and she could make things happen. Once Carrie put her mind to a goal, it was going to happen. For all of her stubbornness, it was easy to depend on her to get her part of things done.
  • enthusiastic
Carrie did nothing half-heartedly. Everything she did, she threw herself into. She made everything fun and cared about it. From her faith to her stories to her protests towards calculus, Carrie didn't miss a minute.
