HTHS PFA Scholarship Awards Program
The HTHS PFA Scholarship Awards Program provides scholarship awards to deserving HTHS seniors. It is funded partly through the HTHS PFA and partly through donations from interested individuals and companies. The HTHS PFA funds seven (7) Scholarship Awards in the amount of $1000 each. The number and amount of the awards funded by outside sources varies each year with the minimum award set at $500.
The HTHS PFA Scholarship Awards are open to all graduating HTHS seniors who meet the following criteria:
- Achievement of a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 85 at the end of the second marking period of the student’s senior year.
- Acceptance at a college or university for the fall following graduation from HTHS.
- Demonstration of good character while attending HTHS.
- Demonstration of outstanding volunteerism and/or leadership in school and club activities within HTHS.
- Demonstration of outstanding volunteerism and/or leadership in activities outside HTHS.
- Understanding and acceptance of the HTHS Mission Statement as evidenced by submission of an essay.
Recipients of the awards are selected by the HTHS PFA Scholarship Awards Selection Committee which is appointed by the principal of HTHS and will consist of advisory members from outside the school community.
The HTHS PFA Scholarship Award applications will be available in March.
