Preparing gifted secondary-school students to be America’s future leaders in science and engineering
Career Highlights:
- University of the Bosphorus (then Robert College), Istanbul, Turkey (1971). Taught Advanced Mechanics and directed the senior research program.
- Feltman Research Laboratory, Department of the Army, Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ (1971 – 1978). Explored the fundamental properties of energetic materials under high static pressure.
- AT&T Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, NJ (1978 – 1996). Engaged in various aspects of product engineering for the development of software-based tools to help manage large telecommunications networks: needs analysis, system specification, sales support, bids and proposals, etc. Coordinated the marketing effort for a new synchronous fiber-optic product line introduced in Europe and other international markets. Recognized as “Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff” since 1983.
- Lucent Technologies, Holmdel, NJ (1996 – 2001). Manager of marketing and technical sales support for offers of mobile telephone and data networks to the rapidly expanding cellular communications business in the U. S.
- High Technology High School, Lincroft, NJ (2002 – present). Secondary school teacher of AP Physics and pre-engineering courses, as well as research advisor to gifted high-school students. Recognized as “Teacher of the Year” in 2006.
