Biography:
When asked what he likes best about his job, Daniel Simon replied, "I liked seeing students succeed... in whatever. Whether it's academically, whether it's in competition... it makes me really proud." Sure enough, Mr. Simon, who has been Principal at High Technology High School for the past six years, has seen many students succeed.
During his time at college, Mr. Simon was also very active in the theatre. He was the lead in many musicals throughout college, including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Music Man, and Pippin.
One of Mr. Simon's first jobs was a math teacher in East Brunswick. He was also the math supervisor for several school districts. Mr. Simon has taught courses in several colleges as well, including Monmouth, Kean, FDU, Rutgers, Middlesex Community College, Brookdale Community College, DeVry IT, and Walden University.
Mr. Simon has always been part of a big family. Born in 1969 in New Brunswick, he was one of seven children. Today, he still has a big family. Mr. Simon has six children, Shannon, DJ, Jacob, Kyle, Alexandra, and Zachary. He loves spending as much time as possible with his children and his beautiful wife of 15 years, Linda. On the side, he sings on a worship team at Calvary Chapel Old Bridge, manages Little League, and coaches soccer. An Eagle Scout himself, Mr. Simon stays active in scouting by serving as the Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 155 and the Treasurer of Troop 155.
Aside from church, drama, teaching, and his family, Mr. Simon also enjoys watching and participating in sports and roots "big time" for the Mets.
