Biography:

John Bartlett was born in Syracuse, New York on November 18th, 1962. Throughout his childhood, he moved around frequently. His father worked in the Air Force and was transferred to many places including Bermuda, Indiana, and finally, New Jersey in 1969.

Once settled, Mr. Bartlett studied at St. Rose High School in Belmar. While in school, he particularly enjoyed math and history and spent his free time playing baseball. It was during his high school career that Mr. Bartlett started working at Gino’s cooking Kentucky Fried Chicken from 1979-1980 – his first job.

Throughout his years teaching at High Tech, Mr. Bartlett has come to appreciate all the school has to offer – its reputation for excellence, the small school environment, and the students’ increasing desire to learn. Even with a busy work schedule, he still manages to find time for his favorite hobbies: chess, music by artists such as 3 Doors Down and The Who, the Yankees and Giants, and bowling on Friday nights. He also spends lots of time with his wife and two children, coaching whatever sports they decide to play. He loves participating in athletics and can still remember playing little league the year his team was undefeated.
